Chamber of Commerce Urges Congress to End Gridlock

The lobbying group says businesses want to see progress.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business lobbying group in the nation, has communicated to Congress that businesses want bipartisan breakthroughs on several issues. Concerns included immigration, permitting, the debt ceiling, and other topics that impact corporate America.

“The polarization, the gridlock, the overreach, and the inability to act smartly and strategically for our future is making it harder for all of us to do our jobs, fulfill our roles, and move this country forward,” U.S. Chamber CEO Suzanne Clark stated.

She also said that the potential for a historic default due to the nation’s debt limit could be destructive to the country’s economy, a chief concern of the Chamber’s members.

The nation is rapidly approaching its $31.4 trillion borrowing limit. The Treasury Department has said it will have to take “extraordinary measures” to free up cash and pay borrowers.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to seek God’s direction on the upper chamber’s priorities.
  • For House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as he oversees the lower chamber’s proceedings.
  • For God’s purposes to be accomplished through the federal legislative branch.
